The Association

Extract from the Articles of Association of the John Knox International Reformed Centre :

"Chapter I: Name, Purpose, Registered Office and Duration of the Association

 

Article 1

The Association of the John Knox International Reformed Centre (hereinafter referred to as the Association) is a non-profit organization. It takes the form provided for in Article 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code and is governed, in addition, by the present Articles of Association.

Article 2

The purpose of the Association is to develop and manage a Center in Geneva designed to :

a) provide an oasis of calm conducive to reflection, a neutral meeting place stimulating dialogue between cultures;

b) promote social justice, peace, human rights and sustainable development;

c) encourage dialogue between conflicting parties, seeking to replace confrontation with consultation, while respecting the dignity of each party;

d) maintain contacts with ecumenical, interdenominational and academic organizations, as well as with churches and international governmental and non-governmental organizations;

e) offer opportunities for encounters without religious, denominational or political restrictions.

To this end, the Association makes premises, infrastructure and services available to all, with priority given to those actively committed to promoting these values and its purpose.

Article 3

The Association's head office is at 27 chemin des Crêts-de-Pregny in Grand-Saconnex (Geneva).
